About Me
Hey there! My name is Danielle Lowery, and I consider myself extremely fortunate to do what I love every day - graphic design! I call myself a graphic designer as it is a nice umbrella term for the branding / illustration / page layout / typography / and photography that I do. Currently, I am the Art Director for the Popular Woodworking magazine. I work with a team of brilliant editors and videographers who have inspired me not only to take my design skills to the next level but to also to branch into a new form of art, woodworking.
Although I spend most of my time designing, I also consider myself an artist, dancer, and musician. Since I was a kid, I always had to keep my hands busy. My mother (and my inspiration) was an artist herself, so when I begin to rip the wallpaper off the walls and replace it with my own art, she began to teach me about the fine arts. It wasn’t long after that when I started to dance through the aisles of the grocery store, so my parents placed me in dance classes at the age of three. I didn’t stop with just the fine arts and dance - as a fifth grader, we were given the option to begin to learn an instrument. Since I was a dancer and rhythm was an essential aspect of that, my instrument choice was easy - percussion! So needless to say - art runs through my veins!
I may no longer dance from dawn to dusk or march in the marching band, but my art, dance, and music background inspires the art I do today! I combine my love for the fine arts and hand-drawn illustrations into my ideas and concepts striving to make designs that encompass the heart of what each client does.
*Be sure to be on the outlook for the start on my blog. I am so excited to begin to share my passion for the arts through this and share snapshots of my art and myself!
